Highlights
If you are looking for a proper flagship killer for 2024 onwards, Realme GT5 Pro is a legit option. Let’s start with its design. We have two color options with a vegan/faux leather back which are Red Rock (orange) and Bright Moon (white). Then we have the Starry Night (black) color which has a glass back with some sort of texture (could as well be frosted). The bold, centered, and circled camera module on the back, curved screen, and narrow bezel all should satisfy contemporary design lovers. It also has an IP64 water resistance certification.
The screen quality is pleasing with a QHD+ 1264 x 2780 pixels resolution AMOLED panel, 144Hz max refresh rate, and 4500 nits peak brightness. Its 6.78” large size is of benefit for those with high media consumption. The cameras are interesting here as well. You’ll get a 50 MP main primary lens with a strong LYT-808 1/1.4-inch sensor. Then the periscope telephoto lens equips a large 50 MP IMX890 1/1.56-inch sensor. We have seen photo samples and these are some very impressive cameras. The 8 MP ultrawide lens, however, is a bit behind. The selfie camera is 32 MP and you can record up to 4K@30fps videos with cameras on both sides.
A large 5400 mAh battery is added with 100W fast charging that takes around half an hour for a full charge. A 50W wireless charging option is also available if that’s more convenient for you. There is Realme UI 5.0 on top of Android 14, up to 16 GB RAM, and up to 1 TB fast UFS 4.0 storage options. Its performance is up to the mark with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4 nm) chipset and up to 16 GB RAM. A 12,000mm2 vapor chamber is included to keep the phone cool and to prevent heating issues. It has Dolby Atmos-certified stereo speakers for excellent audio output.
Pros Cons ✔ Premium design and material ✘ No 3.5mm jack ✔ Fine screen ✘ No MicroSD slot ✔ Preferable cameras ✘ Lower-quality ultrawide lens ✔ Dolby Atmos audio ✘ A bit thicker size & heavier weight ✔ Powerful battery and charging ✔ Flagship performance, vapor cooling ✔ Android 14 with further upgrades
